Game 1: Senate Defenders vs Malacañang Patriots

There were signs of hope from Malacañang Patriots last night, as they have earned their first win in the tournament against Senate Defenders squad, 81-75. It’s a head-to-head game and it was a bunch of guys from the Patriots that fought really hard on this game which ruined squad’s great defense mechanism.

The Patriots outside shooter Rodney Daniel shone, securing crucial shots to help his team howl down the vexing Senate Defenders power tandem of Ex-PBA players Zaldy Realubit and Kenneth Duremdes.

Senate Defenders Senator Sonny Angara also scored to ward off hard challenge stood by the Patriots. However, Team Malacañang continued with their furious drive and grabbed their first win in the weekly elimination round of UNTV Cup Season 2.

Game 2: Judiciary Magis vs DOJ Avengers

DOJ Avengers strived hard to earn their first win; however, Season 1’s champ Judiciary Magis left them behind the team rankings with 0-win and 2-loss record.

Judiciary Magis dominated the game with a more dynamic attacking force from 2nd quarter run until the end of the game; enough to overthrow the DOJ Avengers potency.

Don “The Hammer” Camaso, John Hall and the Best Player of the Game Joey Yabut fired upon and pulled off the game to a win, 101-96, placed them on the 3-0 solo lead in the team rankings.

Find out where your team are in the latest standings:

TEAMS WIN LOSE
SENATE Defenders 1 2
PNP Responders 2 1
LGU Vanguards 1 1
JUDICIARY Magis 3 0
HOR Solons 0 2

After losing its bid versus Philhealth Advocates last week, Team Senate’s record went down to 1-1.

Senate Defenders  head coach Lino Ong stressed what his team needs: more adjustments to further strengthen their campaign this season of the country’s first public service basketball tournament with no less than key government agencies joining as participants.

“Malaking adjustment ang gagawin namin in terms of as a team and as a player”, Ong said. (We will make big adjustment in terms of as a team and as a player.)
