“Kuya” Daniel Razon, through UNTV, and Ang Dating Daan of Bro Eli Soriano will run countrywide mass blood donation drive on June 14 to June 29 in support of  this year’s World Blood Donor Day.

World Blood Donor Day is annually organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood.

This year, the WHO’s main thrust is on “Safe Blood for Saving Mothers”.

The blood donation initiative is to be held across 70 major locations in the Philippines in partnership with the Department of Health (DoH), Philippine Red Cross (PRC), and ADD Foundation International, the charity and public service arm of the Members Church of God International (MCGI).

This public service drive by UNTV and Ang Dating Daan is held quarterly throughout the Philippines.

In a recent blood donation drive held March 26, UNTV and MCGI collected almost 2,000 blood bags from those who have rolled up their sleeves in 47 locations within the Philippines. UNTV‘s public service program Kaagapaywith the Autism Society of the Philippines (ASP), called for autism awareness with a seminar held last May 5 during the show’s 7th anniversary celebration at La Verdad Christian College in Caloocan City.

Erlinda “Dang” Uy-Koe, chairman emeritus of ASP, graced the event and educated attendees and viewers on how to deal with persons with autism. She also underscored mass media’s role in driving awareness regarding this mental disorder.

JKA Talent Management also sponsored the seminar, extending help in nurturing the natural talent of the youth and “special individuals.”

To prove that people with autism can function normally in society, Christian Caragayan and Clarence Cruz, two “advocates” with autism, rendered a song to the delight of the crowd.

Clarence is considered to have the highest IQ among persons with autism.

The seminar is one of many public service offerings of UNTV focusing on…

Image

Game 1: Senate Defenders vs Malacañang Patriots

There were signs of hope from Malacañang Patriots last night, as they have earned their first win in the tournament against Senate Defenders squad, 81-75. It’s a head-to-head game and it was a bunch of guys from the Patriots that fought really hard on this game which ruined squad’s great defense mechanism.

The Patriots outside shooter Rodney Daniel shone, securing crucial shots to help his team howl down the vexing Senate Defenders power tandem of Ex-PBA players Zaldy Realubit and Kenneth Duremdes.

Senate Defenders Senator Sonny Angara also scored to ward off hard challenge stood by the Patriots. However, Team Malacañang continued with their furious drive and grabbed their first win in the weekly elimination round of UNTV Cup Season 2.

Game 2: Judiciary Magis vs DOJ Avengers

DOJ Avengers strived hard to earn their first win; however, Season 1’s champ Judiciary Magis left them behind the team rankings with 0-win and 2-loss record.

Judiciary Magis dominated the game with a more dynamic attacking force from 2nd quarter run until the end of the game; enough to overthrow the DOJ Avengers potency.

Don “The Hammer” Camaso, John Hall and the Best Player of the Game Joey Yabut fired upon and pulled off the game to a win, 101-96, placed them on the 3-0 solo lead in the team rankings.

Find out where your team are in the latest standings:

TEAMS WIN LOSE
SENATE Defenders 1 2
PNP Responders 2 1
LGU Vanguards 1 1
JUDICIARY Magis 3 0
HOR Solons 0 2
Malacanang Patriots 1 1
MMDA Black Wolves 0 2
